History & Mission
The Manly Bombers were founded in 2001. We are based on the
lower Northern Beaches of Sydney with our home oval at Weldon Oval,
North Curl Curl.
Our Mission Statement is:
"to introduce, teach, develop and promote
the AFL code within the broader Manly - Warringah community whilst
contributing towards the physical, social and personal development
of the children"
The Club caters for all ages from 5 years old to 16 years old.
The club plays Australian Rules Football (AFL) where all children
are encouraged to have fun and learn new skills.
Auskick to Under 12's play modified rules which are designed to
introduce the skills of AFL football. For 5 to 10 year olds there
is NO CONTACT, NO GRADING and the emphasis is on FUN and developing
a love for sport.
For ages Under 11 to Under 12, there is minimum contact allowed
but again NO GRADING.
Under 13 to Under 16 has modified rules on a full oval which
ensures maximum enjoyment in a competitive, but fun and SAFE
environment.
Australian Football is a fun, safe sport which all children can
play and enjoy. Everyone gets a game and there is no grading.
All coaches are trained by the AFL and have Level 1 credentials
(minimum). The main aim of the Club is for the players to have fun,
enjoy the game and become profficient at the skills of Australian
Football.
In 2004, Manly were voted Best Club on the North Shore by the
North Shore Association as well as receiving the Greater Sydney
Juniors award for Best Auskick Clinic on the North Shore 2004, 2007
& 2008.
All players, coaches and parents are required to abideby the
AFL's "Code of
Conduct" rules.
Come and play the AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL GAME and HAVE
FUN.
