BOYS Player of the Week - Will Currie
U9 Phantoms - New to the game of AFL this year, Will Currie has demonstrated outstanding improvement in both his skills and understanding of the game as the season has progressed.
Will can be relied upon to give his best at all times and is proving to be a real handful for the opposition with his ability to chase the ball, especially in open areas.
His commitment in both defence and attack and general discipline deserves special praise. Will is a true team player.
His real strength is his speed as he uses this skill to the best of his ability - always chasing the ball to help create many attacking opportunities for the mighty U9 Phantoms.
During his most recent game (Sunday 1st July 2018), Will was a dominant figure across all three zones.
His team mates worked well to transition the ball up the field when it was his turn to play forward. He took a solid mark in front of goals and the goal umpire didn't move an inch when he kicked for goal - it sailed right between the posts!
Will is a likeable young man. A real exemplar of the game.
GIRLS Player of the Week – Liv Cameron
U15YG- Liv was 'discovered' a few years ago when we were setting up our U14 Girls team kicking the ball whilst waiting for her older brothers Guernsey Presentation to start.
A keen recruiter quickly signing her up.
A few weeks later she turned up to her first training session with two friends in tow, growing the team before she had even trained.
Quiet off the field, on field she is a force to be reckoned with, directing the play and making plays for her teammates.
A keen supporter of the Sydney Swans, who seems to possess a magic ticket to get up and close to the Swans.
Possibly why Liv's maybe the best footballer in the Cameron household.
Auskick BOYS Player of the Week – Tao Eager
U8 Boys -Tao plays for Manly Bombers Auskick in the U8’s.
He loves AFL and goes for the Fremantle Dockers.
Tao has played for 2 clubs East Fremantle Sharks before playing for the mighty Manly Bombers.
In total he has played for 4 seasons.
Tao’s favourite part of Auskick is “playing a game because it makes me feel happy and joyful and not alone, Goal kicking is my favourite drill but I love tackling my sister at home”
Manly Bombers Auskick is very lucky to have you and your family playing and coaching at our club.
Auskick GIRLS Player of the Week – Erin Fitchett
U6 Girls- Erin started playing Auskick for the new Auskick girls team this year in our U6 squad. Erin wanted to play a team sport.
Some of Erin's classmates, both boys and girls, were already Auskickers therefore it was a perfect choice for Erin.
Playing all girls games is exciting for Erin and she loves it when she can kick the footy and it lands between the goal posts!
Erin’s favourite drill is when it’s time for kicking practise and she is getting very good at it!
Erin’s favourite team is the Sydney Swans of course!
Just in case we didn't know “Frank Gray Oval is actually a very good place for cartwheeling.”
You will often find Erin being upside down while at Auskick!
Thanks Erin for being a special part of our all girl Auskick Squad!
Being our Players of the Week they have won a free sausage sandwich or egg and bacon roll and a drink from the Club House canteen.
