Player of the Week – Jack Roberts (U12)
Jack is one of our most passionate players, he always brings 110% to the field and is always in the mix tackling hard and chasing down the opposition with fierce determination.
Jack is gutsy and aggressive when needed and exceptionally skillful at the small things (like quick, clever handballs out of the pack and selfless shepherding) which results in big things for the team.
He's a huge contributor physically but also provides our players with great communication, giving his teammates constant positive encouragement and support.
His practice and dedication to the game shows on the field with his bouncing technique and kicking skills improving markedly each season.
Jack is a fearless and outstanding contributor to our team, "Robbo's Reds" and every bit worthy of the Bombers "Club Player of the Week" award. Well done Jack !!
Player of the Week - Mia Christiansson (U16)
Mia joined the U16s Girls Youth team at the start of the season and has well and truly made her mark.
She has hit the ground running in the code, combining her skills learnt playing Rugby, Touch Football, Netball and Soccer.
Mia took on the challenge of marking St Ives’ most experienced player out in the midfield, never shying from the chance of a tackle and helping to take the team to an exciting 36-28 win!
Welcome to the club Mia!
Auskicker of the Week – Jakob Quax (U8 Mustangs)
Jakob was 5 when he started playing Auskick in 2017. This year he is in his third season with the Bombers.
He started playing Auskick because lots of his friends at school were playing.
Jakob and his Dad are big Swans supporters and he loved watching the games and was really keen to give it a go himself.
What he loves most at Auskick is marking a long kick. It makes him feel like he is the next Buddy Franklin!
His favourite thing to do at Auskick is practicing his goal kicking, especially from difficult angles.
In his first U8 development competition game, Jakob’s ball handling skills were exceptional. He was determined to gain contested possession which resulted in lots of forward drive for the team.
Jakob consistently demonstrates a wonderful enthusiasm for the game and training. His coaches can’t ask for more than that!
Being our Players of the Week they have won a free sausage sandwich or egg and bacon roll and a drink from the Club House canteen.
