Player of the Week – Erin Quarford (U18)
Erin is the under 18 Youth Girls Captain and an experienced player having played at representative level and been involved in the Academy squad.
Erin is a passionate, supporting and considerate leader who sets a strong example to the team on and off the field. She has a great character and attitude towards her learning and training, is on time every week, at every training and has guided and helped her team mates through the season.
Erin fights and puts her body on the line every week for all 4 quarters and she has great vision, skills and ability to read the play. She is a strong ruck winning the majority of taps, dominant across the half back, whist also having the ability to play any where across the ground.
Erin's courage and ability to pick herself up when the game isn't going the team's way is why she is so dominate and such a role to any young footballer or athlete.
Erin is a valuable member to the 18 girls and the club, and is very much deserving to be our club's Player of the Week - after running hard, providing defensive pressure and being a key ball winner at last weekend's away match against Ramsgate. WELL DONE ERIN!
Auskicker of the Week – Josiah Chapman
Josiah joined Manly Bombers Auskick this season, and he has loved being part of our Auskick U7 squad.
Josiah started kicking a footy around with his Dad and thought it would be great to build on his AFL skills.
His favourite drill is Cool Kicks, which involves kicking a ball to to a target.
Josiah loves kicking goals and playing games, and one important skill that he has learnt to do this season is how to kick the ball whilst running.
Josiah is a big Swans fan, and he was lucky enough to meet his Swans heroes Michael O'Loughlin and Buddy Franklin, as well as play a half-time game at the Marn Grook game against Collingwood. Keep up the good work Josiah!
Being our Players of the Week they have won a free sausage sandwich or egg and bacon roll and a drink from the Club House canteen.
